Έλληνες θεοί (με γυμνούς ηθοποιούς)
, at 2:49 μ.μ., in
Greek Gods
The gods are homeless as are you and I
in ruins underneath the sky and skin.
We are the gods who aren't fitting in
like homeless cats who sleep outdoors and try
not to despair. We hunt and roam and cry.
Maybe too many cats to purr and sin
not fitting well to dance on someone's pin
like syllables in sonnets. Some must die.
Therefore the multitudes on or below
the marble slabs of streets and cemetaries
will keep on whispering
in broken Greek.
Looking for shelter they as hommeless know
that they must wait in line for caars and ferries.
To be a god is nnever for the weak.
